Cable-Sherpa solves cable chaos: the start-up inspires with a smart support arm for e-charging cables
Freistadt, November 26, 2024 – From now on, charging is simple, clean and easy! The innovative Cable-Sherpa cable management system for e-charging cables eliminates tripping hazards and clutter around the charging station, enables convenient charging of e-cars with just one hand movement and at the same time ensures greater safety and accessibility. Helmut Kastler, Andreas Affenzeller and Erwin Kunst, three technology enthusiasts from Upper Austria, have launched the perfect solution for e-car drivers with their start-up and are already celebrating their first national and international successes after just a short time.
The smart cable solution for organizing the e-charging station
Electric car drivers know the problem: an electric charging cable lying around in the garage or carport that can quickly become a tripping hazard. This is precisely why the three Upper Austrians Helmut Kastler, Erwin Kunst and Andreas Affenzeller have created a new, practical cable organization system. “During product development, we paid particular attention to ensuring that the support arm is easy to use for everyone. With Cable-Sherpa, the e-charging process can be started and stopped with a single movement. Users can charge their electric car without much effort. Our aim is to prioritize convenience, accessibility and user-friendliness,” explains Andreas Affenzeller, CTO and co-founder.
The new cable routing ensures greater organization and safety at the e-charging station and brings many advantages for users:
- Ready for immediate use: simple installation, maximum compatibility. The practical Cable-Sherpa cable holder made of electrolytically galvanized steel in black or white is compatible with all standard wallboxes and e-charging cables. The support arm can be quickly and easily attached to the wall or pillars using the mounting material supplied.
- Adapts to any situation: Flexible support arm positioning. Cable-Sherpa can be swiveled and, depending on the version, also extended. It automatically returns to its resting position when in use. The patent-pending cable management system supports e-charging cables up to 7 meters and therefore offers an operating radius of 5.5 meters.
- Clean solution: practical one-handed operation. Thanks to the practical one-handed operation, Cable-Sherpa makes it particularly easy to start the charging process. Above all, there is no need to roll up and tidy up the charging area when the charging process is finished. A practical additional benefit: hands and clothes stay clean!
- Say goodbye to tripping hazards: accessibility around the e-charging station. The innovative cable management system creates greater accessibility at e-charging stations. This benefits not only people with disabilities, but also passers-by who walk past an e-charging station in multi-party buildings or underground garages. Cable-Sherpa also protects the e-charging cable from damage.
- Investment in the future: sustainable and durable. Cable-Sherpa is a sustainable investment in a neat, clean e-charging station. Several product tests have already proven that after 10,000 repeated movements (equivalent to 10,000 charging processes), there are no noticeable signs of wear on the support arm.
First market successes and international plans
“It all started with an idea in May 2023, and now our cable holder is already really in demand – we never expected that at the beginning. This was made possible by our commitment, perseverance and a clear business model,” says Helmut Kastler, trained mechatronics engineer, CPO and co-founder of Cable-Sherpa. The founding trio of Cable-Sherpa is also positive about the future in view of the current market situation, which is forecasting stagnation and a decline in e-car sales: “The current media perception is very much limited to Austria and Germany. We are concentrating on the entire European market with a long-term strategy. The latest figures show that there will be 32 million charging points in the EU by 2030 – that makes us very positive,” summarizes Helmut Kastler.
“In the DACH region, we have already achieved our first notable successes and gained new cooperation partners. The two major online portals energielösung.de from Germany and schnelladen.ch from Switzerland have already listed our product in their stores, which gives us an additional boost. We are currently planning Cable-Sherpa ‘s next expansion steps in other European countries,” says CCO and co-founder Erwin Kunst, summarizing the next entrepreneurial steps.
The Cable-Sherpa is available in the online store at cable-sherpa.com. In addition to the practical cable management system, e-car owners can also order practical accessories such as e-charging cables or a wall bracket for storing the vehicle’s plug end. In addition, the next Cable-Sherpa product is already in the starting blocks: The Cable-Sherpa NANI is an entry-level model that offers the perfect addition for e-charging cables up to 5m both indoors and outdoors. Orders can already be placed in the online store and the product will be delivered directly to your home within a few days.
