As I own an electric car myself, I quickly realized that the cable lying on the floor quickly becomes a tripping hazard. This was the starting point for the first ideas for a new, practical cable holder together with Erwin Kunst and Andreas Affenzeller. We are moving forward with courage and want to simplify the charging experience for all e-car drivers in the long term”explains Helmut Kastler, CPO and co-founder of Cable-Sherpa and the driving force behind the new, safe charging option.
Cable holder with a head
Cable-Sherpa is a holder for electric car charging cables that is simply mounted on the wall in the garage or carport. The cable holder is designed to be compatible with all standard wallboxes and charging cables. “When developing the product, it was important to us right from the start that it was simple and clean to use. Users should be able to start the charging process with just one hand, which is now possible with Cable-Sherpa,” says Andreas Affenzeller, CTO and co-founder, who is particularly responsible for the technical development of the new product. The new Cable-Sherpa can also be extended and rotated and automatically returns to its resting position when in use. The patented cable holder from Austria is suitable for cables up to 7 meters long, which corresponds to an operating radius of 5.5 meters.

To drive the future of e-mobility forward, simple solutions such as Cable-Sherpa are needed for everyday challenges. “The times when e-car drivers had to live with inconvenient solutions for charging their electric vehicles are over.
